Hola! The last 24 hours have been absolutely crazy, but definitely some moments to remember. We actually had a good meal for dinner last night (but still random, of course). Cecilia served chicken noodle soup, pizza, and salad. It was good, but after my very unappetizing pizza for lunch yesterday, I'm staying off of pizza for a while! Later in the evening, we talked with the other Wofford people who were all planning to meet at Chupitos, a bar that apparently is famous for serving over 200 different shots. The only problem was that there are TWO Chupitos, and of course we went to the wrong one (and we walked in the freezing weather). We struggled to find the first Chupitos and even paid a cab driver 5 euros to drive Mimi, Maya, and me no more than 500 yards. What a rip off! I then found out the address of the other Chupitos and finally made it there. The place was so crowded and smokey and hard to find anyone in. In fact, there was a 45 people limit in this tiny bar, but there must have been over 200 people inside. With Mimi not feeling well and our failure to find the other Wofford people, the three of us left around 2.
Today, we had a meeting with our RA and then headed to the shopping and touristy area, La Rambla. Maya was able to get some necessities at H&M because she still hasn't gotten her luggage. She had trouble with her credit card, though, so we must have spent 2 hours waiting on her. Needless to say, Mimi and I were getting quite irritable and decided to leave and get a late lunch while Maya worked things out with BofA. We had a nice meal, but decided to leave afterwards because Mimi is feeling so terribly. I have day two of orientation tomorrow and then classes start Tuesday! I'm ready to get in the swing of things!

What's wrong with Mimi?! Tummy or a Cold? WASH YOUR HANDS GIRLS!!! Sound crazy! How do you know how not to get ripped off from a cab driver?! Can your hostess give you helpful hints?! And your orientation seems shorter than Patterson's is quoted...you girls are my heros! xxoochampagne
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't know! Tummy and cold and more! We're all trying to stay healthy. We weren't getting ripped off by the cab driver, he just decided to be a jerk and charge us for the short distance and for having more than one person...ugh! My orientation is all next week too. We just start our spanish classes on Tuesday for the week. I miss you, Mrs. Maker! Each comment you leave makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteHey Molly! Hope you're starting to feel more settled. Good luck with orientation and classes starting. I still can't belive you're over there! Enjoy everything about it!

Molly, ¿Cómo está?. Are you impressed? Well I'm cheating, I looked it up on the internet. I didn't figure you would understand Latin and that's all I took in school. Love the decor. Makes you really appreciate home <:). You know me, I'm all about the food and feeding everyone. I'm at a loss, does your host family eat with you? Hummmmmm....... The chicken soup might help Mimi though. That's a cure all. Got to go now, you girls take care.
ReplyDeleteAdiós. Love, Patterson's Granny
